Interprofessional Education (IPE) and EHRs in the Classroom

Students are filing into the classroom. It is a frigid morning in January here in the midwest. The snow is coming down outside. Everyone is trying to warm up from the walk across campus. The students in the room are not your typical collection of students. We have students from the medical school, as well as nursing, and social work. This is an interdisciplinary group of students working in a special program for Interprofessional Education (IPE) here at Indiana University as part of Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) grant. Another team on campus is working on a curriculum that will include working with pharmacy students in West Lafayette and Indianapolis through a partnership with Purdue’s College of Pharmacy, and they are meeting on another date and time.
